In the Backyard it is really it is important for each runner to have a own support person. Our volunteers have their own tasks and it is difficult to help the runners.

One support person/runner at a time will be admitted to the competition centre building. This will avoid excessive congestion in the competition centre. When runners drop off during the race, there will also be enough space for the support teams inside.

Toilets and competition centre facilities

The facilities are mainly for the use of the runners! When the runners are on the course, support team can also come inside to the racecentre.

Prizes

Everyone will receive a plywood participation medal.

The winner will receive a unique ”Pahantorjuja” belt forged by Simo Oksa, a blacksmith from Vihti. The runner-up will receive a necklace with the same theme.

In the early 1970s, men from the Ryönä farm in Vihti Jokikunta found a curious pattern on the banks of the Vanjoki River when they were demolishing an old barn. Samuli Nissi, the landlord, invited a local history teacher to come and admire the stone, which had a peculiar ”stick figure” carved into its surface. The stone was named the "Pahantorjuja" stone.

It is not known who, why and when the pattern was carved into the stone. The carved pattern is believed to have been brought to Vihti in the 13th century by Novgorodians who moved through the area. Following similar images takes us far to the east, as far as Byzantium, Syria and Egypt, to early Christian times, to the first millennium.

"Pahantorjuja" is now on display at the Vihti Museum, where it was moved in cooperation with the National Board of Antiquities.

Aonach will reward the winner and runner-up with sports drink packages (worth €200 and €100).

We also want to reward the toughest fighter of the competition with Merrell shoes! Who shows the most attitude?
